By creating an account or using any of our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind the entity to these Terms.

You may need to create an account to access our Service. You are responsible for maintaining your account credentials’ confidentiality and are fully responsible for all activities under your account.



**Service Use and Restrictions**

- All rights to data, documents, and proprietary content you provide remain solely yours.
- Submission of materials to LindberghAI does not transfer ownership of intellectual property. - You are responsible for ensuring rights and permissions to use and share content with us.
- LindberghAI is not liable for third-party claims related to uploaded content. We reserve the right to remove content in question if aware of potential infringements.



b. Our Processes and IP:

Proprietary processes, methodologies, software, algorithms, and technology used in building models are the exclusive property of LindberghAI . Modifications or improvements made during service provision are LindberghAI ’s IP. You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive LindberghAI’s proprietary technology.



c. Responsibility for Copyrighted Material:

LindberghAI provides the platform for data but does not review or guarantee the legality of displayed content. By submitting copyrighted materials, you warrant that you have obtained necessary rights. LindberghAI will not be held liable for copyright infringement claims related to materials you provide.



d. User Responsibility for Submitted Materials

By using LindberghAI , you affirm that you have full rights and permissions to submit any
materials used within our models. LindberghAI does not claim ownership over submitted
materials and acts solely as a hosting service. LindberghAI does not redistribute, resell, or otherwise disseminate any copyrighted materials submitted by users. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any material provided complies with applicable copyright laws, institutional policies, and contractual agreements. If a third party notifies us of a copyright issue, we reserve the right to temporarily restrict access to the disputed content until the issue is resolved.



e. Sharing and Redistribution of LindberghAI Tools

Users may share LindberghAI tools with one another. However, redistribution, resale, or public sharing of LindberghAI tools outside of authorized usage is strictly prohibited. Users are responsible for ensuring that shared access complies with any applicable institutional policies and agreements. LindberghAI reserves the right to revoke access if unauthorized distribution is detected.

If a user shares access to LindberghAI tools or links containing copyrighted materials,
LindberghAI assumes no liability under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or any other copyright law. LindberghAI functions solely as a hosting provider and does not monitor, endorse, or take responsibility for shared user content. Users are entirely responsible for ensuring that any shared materials comply with copyright and legal requirements

**Nature of the Tool**
The Tool is an AI-powered educational and training aid designed to supplement, not replace, traditional flight instruction.  It is intended to provide users with personalized feedback, adaptive training, and realistic flight simulations.  The Tool is not a substitute for a certified flight instructor (CFI) and should not be used as such.

**Limitation of Liability:**
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lindbergh AI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the Tool, even if you have been advised of the possibility of such damages.  This limitation of liability applies regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise.

**User Responsibility:**
The user is solely responsible for their use of the Tool and any decisions made based on the information provided by it.  The user acknowledges that flight training and aviation involve inherent risks, and the use of the Tool does not eliminate these risks.  The user must always exercise sound judgment, adhere to all applicable aviation regulations, and consult with a certified flight instructor before making any flight-related decisions.

**Not for Real-World Flight Decisions:**
The simulations and information provided by the Tool are for training and educational purposes only and should not be used for actual flight planning or decision-making.  Real-world flight decisions should always be based on official sources, such as weather reports, NOTAMs, and consultation with qualified aviation personnel.

Holding Tips

### Holding Basics
Holding is used for various reasons such as traffic, weather, troubleshooting problems, or to do a "procedure turn" to be in the right direction for an approach. It is important to be able to quickly decipher holding instructions so you can focus on flying. **Most people struggle with this, therefore it is imperative you practice!**

 

### Basic Structure of Holding Instructions
Holding instructions come in the format:
>"N1234G, Hold (cardinal direction) of (fix) on the (radial/course) at (altitude), (direction of turns if applicable - standard is Right turns in the hold), Expect Further Clearance (time)"

This varies with the type of hold and the holding fix. *Most people complicate things and get confused on trying to memorize which type of hold (VOR, GPS, DME, Airway) is a course or radial* and therefore how to determine the entry type into the holding pattern.

 

This is the key: **Your Outbound Heading ALWAYS matches the Cardinal Direction of the hold**

*Why do we care about the Outbound?*
Because the **Outbound then determines your entry into the hold** (using the T method)

 

You can then find the Inbound by finding the reciprocal. 
>Here's a tip for finding the reciprocal quickly:
>
>Ignore the last digit, add or subtract 18 from the outbound. For example, if my outbound is 210, ignore the last 0, subtract 18. This gives you:
>21-18=3
>So if my outbound is 210, my inbound (reciprocal) will be 030.

After you copy your holding instructions, be ready to write "Out:" and "In:" on your iPad/kneeboard and apply the steps above. 

This way you can focus your mental energy on determining holding entry. By visualizing the inverted T on your HSI, and placing the *Outbound* heading on your HSI, you can now easily determine which entry you are supposed to use.

Then, use the Inverted T method (otherwise known as the pencil method), and place your Outbound HDG on the HSI to determine your entry!

Let's run through some examples!

Holding 101


##### VOR
>N1234G, Hold North of the OCF VOR on the 360 Radial at 3000, EFC 1900Z.

The Outbound always matches cardinal direction of the hold. The cardinal direction is N, therefore:
Out - 360 HDG, 
In - 180 Radial

##### GPS
>N1234G, Proceed direct to and hold West of CUSAB on the 090 Course at 3000, EFC 0200Zulu.

Don't fall into the trap of trying to memorize the radial/course to find entry! The cardinal direction is West, therefore:
Out - 270 HDG, 
In - 090 Course

##### How about a DME Hold? 
>Hold South of the 10 DME from the SSI VOR on the 360 Radial, EFC 1700Z.

The cardinal direction is S, therefore:
Out - 180 HDG, 
In - 360 Radial

Try drawing it out! What if we changed the same instruction to holding N?

>Hold N of the 10 DME from the SSI VOR on the 360 Radial, Left turns EFC 1700Z.

The cardinal direction is now N, therefore:
Out - 360 HDG, 
In - 180 Radial

##### Finally, Victor Airway holds!
Airway holds are slightly different as a Radial (or Course if a GPS Tango Airway) is *not usually issued* when the holding instruction is given. For example:
>Hold S of HICUP on V225, at 5000, EFC 0900Z.

We must first find HICUP, on V225, and from the IFR Low Sectional we can see that V225 is established on the 183 Radial out of RSW VOR. Therefore, the instruction really means:
>Hold S of HICUP on **183 Radial**, at 5000, EFC 0900Z.

From here we can apply what we have learned above. Since the cardinal direction is S, we can deduce:
Out - 183 HDG, 
In - 003 Radial

In summary, look for the closest VOR on which on the airway you are flying is based on, take the radial, and plug it in like we did above.

We use industry-standard encryption where applicable, including AES-256 for data at rest and TLS 1.2 for data in transit, depending on the services integrated. We regularly review and update our security practices to meet evolving industry standards.

**Where do we store the data?**

The personal data we collect is securely stored within AWS Amazon Cloud in the U.S. As we operate from the U.S., all data processing is conducted within the country, ensuring that your data remains secure and compliant with U.S. regulations.

By submitting your personal data, you consent to the storage, processing, and transfer of this data within the United States. Should we need to transfer your data to a third-party service provider, we ensure that your privacy rights are protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and U.S. data protection laws.

**How long do we store your data?**

We will archive and stop actively using any personal identifiable information about you within 3 months from the last time you used LindberghAI. We will delete your personal data from our archives no later than 1 year from the last time you used LindberghAI or as agreed with you in a separate contract.

Data deletion is managed securely using certified processes to ensure that all personally identifiable information (PII), even in de-identified form, is fully removed after the retention period. Institutions can request customized retention periods to meet specific compliance requirements.

**Third parties who process your data**

Tech businesses often use third parties to help them host their application, communicate with customers, power their emails etc. We partner with third parties who we believe are the best in their field at what they do. Third-party providers, such as Google Drive and M365, are evaluated to ensure they can be configured to meet FERPA and GDPR compliance standards.

When necessary, we may share your data with trusted third-party providers to help us deliver our services effectively. Your data is shared only when strictly required and in accordance with the safeguards and best practices outlined in this Privacy Policy. When personal data is transferred to third parties, we ensure that appropriate data protection measures are in place. 

This includes adhering to relevant data protection laws and implementing encryption for all data transfers. For transfers outside the U.S., we take steps to ensure compliance with applicable international data protection standards and safeguards, including securing agreements with third-party providers to protect your data in line with this Privacy Policy.

While LindberghAI does not directly handle student records, we are committed to ensuring that any educational data we process adheres to the principles of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We have implemented the following safeguards to ensure the privacy and protection of sensitive information:





We use third-party service providers such as Google Drive and M365 for document storage. While these services can be configured to comply with FERPA when used appropriately, the responsibility for maintaining compliance lies with the educational institutions.



All educational data used within LindberghAI is solely for model building and course-specific improvements. No student-specific information is collected, stored, or used for any other purpose. Since we do not interact with student records, all data passed through our system is anonymized or pseudonymized in accordance with privacy standards, ensuring compliance with FERPA’s core principles.

We are in the process of developing an incident response plan to address data breaches or unauthorized access. Once implemented, this plan will include notifying affected institutions and users in a timely manner and providing detailed logs to assist with mitigation and recovery efforts. In the meantime, we work closely with institutions to ensure appropriate measures are in place to manage any security risks.
